Joe TraficantiJoe Traficanti has served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary for two Fortune 300 companies – Performance Food Group Company (“PFGC”) (2004 – 2009) as well as United Natural Foods, Inc. (“UNFI”) (2009 – 2018).
He established the law departments at both companies as well as built UNFI’s Food Quality and Safety Department. Prior to UNFI and PFGC, he served as the Associate General Counsel to Owens and Minor, Inc. After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, Joe began his career flying jet aircraft for the Air Force, until the Air Force offered to send him to law school, which he accepted. He attended and graduated from Creighton University School of Law, then served as a federal prosecutor, Professor of Law at the Air Force Academy, head U.S. attorney in Sicily, then Special Counsel to the Air Force at the Pentagon before leaving the Air Force to join the Richmond, VA-based law firm of McGuireWoods. Joe has represented clients in more than forty state and federal trials involving matters regarding labor/employment law and contract/business/commercial matters. Joe has vast experience in mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, HR compliance, government investigations and negotiations, particularly with the DOJ, SEC, EEOC, OFCCP, USDA/FDA, DOL, DOT, OSHA and FINRA.
